ISM & Compliance Manager
Job Description
This role will be responsible for: Ensuring the up keeping and maintenance of the CCL Safety Management System (Legacy, ISM Code) and CCL HESS-MS by keeping the system updated as needed. S/he is also responsible for ensuring the maintenance of the following management systems: CCL Environmental Management System (ISO 14001-2004) and CCL Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001-2007). Primary functions are as follows: Reviewing "HESS Action Team" and "HESS Steering Committee Meeting" reports for the fleet and addressing shipboard concerns/suggestions with responsible Shoreside management and provide assistance, follow up and closure. Reviewing "Self-Inspection reports", "HESS Rounds" and "Non-Conformity Reports", for the fleet and ensure timely follow up and closure of raised findings and provide assistance when necessary. Tracking with the appointed HESS MS Administrator of HESS audit finding scores and tracking of year after year performance including the trend associated to the 17 Critical Areas Findings• Follow up fleet-wide on the lifting appliances inspections program including the performance of appointed third party competent persons (Contractors). Follow up fleet-wide on the securing of heavy objects program and assist the fleet as needed• Any other assignment as directed by Management. The above responsibilities include assisting the Director of Compliance in monitoring the correct implementation of applicable procedures (Shipboard and Shoreside), proper document control and document management.
Essential Functions:
- Reviewing "Self-Inspection reports", “HESS Rounds” and “Non-Conformity Reports”, for the fleet and ensure timely follow up and closure of raised findings and provide assistance when necessary.

- Reviewing "HESS Steering Committee Meeting" report
- Follow up fleet-wide on the lifting appliances inspections program including the performance of appointed third party competent persons (Contractors).
- Follow up fleet-wide on the securing of heavy objects program and assist the fleet as needed

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Technical Education preferable (Nautical Academy, Marine Engineering Degree)
- At least 5 years’ experience in cruise ship’s operation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in SOLAS, ISM ISPS and MLC regulations and ISO standards.
- Experience in managing diverse compliance reports and aspects with emphasis in HESS elements, auditing experience supported by certificates as applicable

Physical Demands: Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
Travel: Less than 25% ship-based travel
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
The range for this role’s base salary is $75,900 - $122,700. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
