Job Description
Working under the guidance of the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports, perform research and analysis, prepare payroll, maintain the general ledger for the Bahamas destination sites (Princess Cay and Half Moon Cay). The Senior Account will also perform account reconciliations, assist with audit preparations, and carry out other accounting duties as may be required for the Bahamas destination sites Princess Cay and Half Moon Cay. This position will reside in Eleuthera.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas.
- Assist in collection of data for, and processing of, payroll for the company.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and reporting schedules for the company
- Assist with internal and external audit requests for the company
- Work closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity.
- Finalize monthly accrual schedules
- Monthly Reconciliation and maintain General Ledgers
- Prepare yearend report schedules in preparation for audits.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and or quarterly entries.
- Recording and maintaining daily financial transactions for several companies, including but not limited to, the following areas: Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, outside vendor reconciliations, banking activity, including preparation of daily revenue entries before review and posting.
- Assist in collection of data for, and processing of, payroll for company.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and reporting schedules for company.
- Assist with the monthly and annual close process for company, ensuring close deadlines are met.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests for company
- Ensures compliance with company policies and legal regulations, maintaining internal control, and detecting discrepancies.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and or quarterly entries.
- Recording and maintaining daily financial transactions including but not limited to, the following areas: Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, outside vendor reconciliations, banking activity, including preparation of daily revenue entries before review and posting.
- Considerable knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to local and federal accounting procedures and requirements.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s preferred,
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
- Previous work experience preferred.

- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests.
- Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
- This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment as needed.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift/move a maximum of 50 lbs as needed.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills.
- Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
- Ability to travel within the Bahamas, across the Caribbean islands.
- Willing to be flexible on work hours including, but not limited to working weekends if required.
