Responsibilities
The Fleet Technical Document Center (FTDC) Coordinator is responsible for the organization, tracking, analysis, and governance of all the fleet technical projects supported by the FTDC. This role functions as the Project Management Office (PMO) for the FTDC, ensuring that all documentation-related projects are properly organized, accurately tracked, and reported using reliable, up-to-date data.
They will oversee documentation workflows across multiple concurrent projects, maintains records of all the ongoing, past and future projects, providing analytical insight to support operational and leadership decision-making. The role requires working familiarity with architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings, strong organizational and analytical skills to manage complex datasets, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery of technical documentation.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage and maintain a centralized tracking of all active FTDC-related projects. Establish and enforce project documentation controls, including scope tracking, milestone status, deliverables, and revision history. Proactively monitor progress, identify risks or gaps in documentation, and escalate issues to leadership as required to maintain schedule integrity and data reliability.
Serve as the primary coordination point between Project Managers, shipyards, vendors, and internal departments for the intake, validation, and release of technical drawings and documentation. Maintain the master drawing index and ensure strict version control throughout the project lifecycle. Provide authoritative responses to documentation status inquiries and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
Produce standard reports; highlight trends and exceptions for review. Provide accurate, timely reporting on project status, workload distribution, backlog, and performance metrics. Translate data into actionable insights to support resource planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Administer and optimize FTDC digital documentation database, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with corporate standards. Implement structured data management practices, including document indexing, naming conventions, and archival procedures.
Plan and execute structured communications related to technical documentation updates, approvals, and releases. Draft, review, and distribute clear, accurate notifications to shipboard and shoreside stakeholders. Ensure documentation releases are complete, traceable, and aligned with approved project milestones.
Evaluate existing FTDC workflows to identify inefficiencies, risks, or compliance gaps. Lead or support the implementation of process improvements, standard operating procedures, and control mechanisms. Ensure documentation practices comply with internal policies, audit requirements, and record retention standards.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills, VBA coding preferred.
Familiarity with Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) plans.
Experience with Power BI.
Knowledge of document control systems and version management.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
Ability to liaise effectively with technical teams and external vendors.
3+ years of experience in document control, technical documentation coordination, project coordination, or project controls support in an engineering, maritime, construction, manufacturing, or regulated environment.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their home on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

Holidays – All full-time and part-time with benefits employees receive days off for 8 company-wide holidays, plus 2 additional floating holidays to be taken at the employee’s discretion.
Vacation Time – All full-time employees at the manager and below level start with 14 days/year; director and above level start with 19 days/year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 84 hours/year. All employees gain additional vacation time with further tenure.
Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
