Job Summary: 

The Specialist, Training and Sales Effectiveness supports development and delivery of travel agency training and sales force messaging content/tools across the Global Sales and Trade Marketing organization.  Specialist responsible for collecting content, prioritizing key messages and developing outputs that the sales team will use for ongoing sales calls and discussions with travel agency partners.  Responsibilities include developing business update presentations, BDM sales decks, social media posts, partner/industry webinar content, etc.  The specialist also designs and develops training courses as part of Carnival's Learn & Earn travel agent training program to ensure that newer travel agents are upskilled quickly.

Essential Functions:

  • Sales team presentation materials:  Responsible for developing sales presentations based on outlines/messaging prioritization/direction from team leader.  Responsible for maintaining a regular update schedule of all materials under ownership to ensure that the latest updates, brand evolution etc. are included.  Updates/tailors existing presentations to suit event length or focus.  Collects feedback from sales team users on benefits/drawbacks of current materials and makes recommendations on how to improve quality and adoption.
  • Travel Agent Training Content & Tools:   Responsible for acting as an SME for Carnival news and product/program information and translating that content into compelling training courses for travel agents.  Training is typically developed in PowerPoint with a recorded voiceover or delivered via live/recorded webinar.  Specialist is responsible for formatting information in compelling ways to attract viewership and ensure learning is retained.  Specialist supports the technical platform for training materials (external LMS and/or YouTube) and is responsible for posting all content once completed, reviewing reports for training adoption and managing resolution of technical issues raised from travel agency users.  
  • Webinar Set-Up and Delivery:  Edits existing content library as needed to make webinar-ready.  Responsible for set-up and event management for webinar platforms including Teams, Zoom and Streamyard.  Manages invitation/RSVP/sign-on process for groups of 1000+ attendees.  Supports internal colleagues in setting up and hosting webinars.  Regularly acts as technical host and troubleshooter for webinar delivery.
  • Business Development Manager newsletter:  Leverages messaging hierarchy defined by team leader to create bi-weekly newsletter distributed from HQ to internal sales team colleagues.  Responsible for accurate branding, and content relevance and design aesthetic.
  • Position is part of Carnival's Global Sales and Trade Marketing organization and supports B2B sales and marketing efforts globally for the trade distribution channel.  This role works closely with Carnival’s Sales Team, Carnival Brand/Product Marketing, Trade Marketing and external media/industry partners [Travel Weekly, CLIA etc.].  The role is primarily focused on shoreside activities though events and programming onboard our ships that support travel agency partners are also included. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related field
    3+ years experience
  • Sales support or sales/partner training.  Presentation developing from multiple inputs .  Cruise industry experience strongly preferred; B2B background a plus.
  • Candidates should have expert level powerpoint and presentation development skills with intermediate+ skills across Word and Excel.  Experience in supporting high-value brands and understanding translating brand and product messaging for sales organizations is highly valuable.  Position requires ability to build relationships with sales team members and create trusted relationships between HQ and field teams.
  • Must be OK to 3 days in office, 2 days home. This job is a hybrid model

    • Identifying content inputs based on outline/requests set by team leadership.  Adapting deliverables based on team/leader feedback .  Identifying needed content updates based on revised guidance from product/brand marketing.

    • Specialist is part of a team effort that contributes offer 5000 sales presentations/year and delivers 200K+ course completions annually (Learn and Earn, Celebration Key certification, etc.).   Position has a very visible role and contribution across the sales team and the trade community.
  • Leadership:
    • No direct reports.  Significant influence leadership opportunities across sales team and other colleagues across Trade Marketing and Sales Development.
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.
  • Skills:
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Holidays – All full-time and part-time with benefits employees receive days off for 8 company-wide holidays, plus 2 additional floating holidays to be taken at the employee’s discretion. 
Vacation Time – All full-time employees at the manager and below level start with 14 days/year; director and above level start with 19 days/year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 84 hours/year.  All employees gain additional vacation time with further tenure.
Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
