Responsibilities
The Onboard Revenue Accounting Senior Manager is a key leadership position in the Finance organization. Operationally, this position plays an integral role in CCL's financial month-end closing and reporting process, including assisting with the preparation and review of complex journal entries, performing variance analysis on multiple accounts, reviewing multiple balance sheet account reconciliations, and providing internal financial reporting and analysis to senior leadership. Additionally, the position requires strong knowledge of system processes to ensure information flows from onboard systems to shoreside for accurate financial reporting and for operational and analytical purposes. Strategically this individual anticipates upcoming changes in CCL's business environment that can impact finance and utilizes resources to react effectively. The Senior Manager partners with other finance teams and business groups to implement new processes and improve existing ones.
Essential Functions:
- Management: Manage and develop the month-end close process for Onboard Revenue Accounting (communicate deadlines to operations and ships, review of complex journal entries, streamline process through improvements and automation, review variance explanations and analysis). Manage day to day responsibilities related to personnel in the department as well as their career development.
- Review/Compliance: Support GL and reporting related functions for the CCL finance organization. Liaise with ships and operations on accounting, general ledger, and other finance topics. Communicate and drive implementation of companywide finance/accounting changes that impact the Onboard Revenue Accounting department. Provide strategic input and ensure that operational areas are fully in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Compliance: Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide reconciliation guidance to ensure balance sheet reconciliations for Onboard Revenue Accounting department are accurate and efficient.
- Reporting: Responsible for preparing/reviewing reporting packages over key transactional areas (concessionaires: minimum guarantees, capex spend; donations collected, various analysis as required by senior management)
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements for the Onboard Revenue area.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, Financial Technology, Operations, teams on the testing and implementation of systems, upgrades, or changes in the Onboard Revenue area.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Oversee ad-hoc reports and projects as requested by senior leadership providing timely and relevant information to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Masters Degree a Plus
- CPA Preferred
- 8 years total experience
- 5 years in managing accounting areas
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Previous experience with Oracle Financial Systems, Hyperion Essbase, Power BI, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Strong process and analytical skills with proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- GAAP and the ability to apply the concepts to specific situations
- Able to analyze, evaluate and move quickly to support rapid decision making
- Must have Executive presence and strong presentation skills
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: No or very little travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “remote.” As a remote role, it allows employees to work full-time from their home. It may also require regular travel to Carnival headquarters in Miami, FL for in-office collaboration. Sourcing of candidates is primarily done in Carnival’s remote hubs of Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas. If the search is extended past those areas, candidates must be located in one of the following U.S. states: FL, GA, TX and NC

- Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
