This position supports the global MAST Program by coordinating data analysis efforts, driving data requirements, analyzing operational data, and providing insights into asset performance, HESS, and other key operational activities on MAST vessels. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and leveraging technical expertise in SQL programming to build efficient data models and robust Power BI Dashboards. The role demands strong visualization skills and proficiency in PowerPoint to present findings effectively and support the preparation of comprehensive monthly and quarterly reports. 

This role will work closely with key stakeholders, such as the MAST Reporting Senior Manager, MAST Analyst, and global IT, brands, and business teams. The Business Analyst will gather analysis and reporting requirements, design dashboard solutions, and answer ad hoc requests support strategic decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Data Visualization and Reporting:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting business needs. Participate in requirements gathering sessions and document stakeholder requirements. 
    • Assist in the creation of data visualizations and interactive dashboards, reports and apps using Power BI. 
    • Support the automation of reports to improve efficiency and accuracy, reducing manual effort. 
    • Replicate best practices and learnings from ad hoc requests and dashboards across different departments/functions.
    • Monthly & Quarterly Report Package
    • Assist in the development of a comprehensive report packages in PowerPoint ensuring they are visually appealing and design elements communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. 
    • Compile/update and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for MAST and Brand leadership, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all reports.
  • Ad Hoc Request Support:
    • Respond and collaborate with ad hoc requests from stakeholders by clarifying requirements and proving adequate analysis and insights. 
    • Maintain a high standard of data accuracy across all ad hoc requests. This includes verifying the integrity of data sources, performing thorough data validation checks, and ensuring that the data used in analysis is reliable.
    • Document and track all ad hoc requests ensuring timely and accurate delivery of analysis and insights.  Maintain a log of completed requests to provide a reference for future analysis and to identify any recurring themes or common data needs.
  • Process Improvement Support: 
    • Provide technical support for various improvement projects by analyzing data, identifying bottlenecks, and offering solutions. 
    • Continuously evaluate and improve the ad hoc request process. Identify ad hoc requests that occur frequently and evaluate a dashboard solution. 
    • Work closely with senior manager to identify opportunities to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the MAST Reporting unit.
  • Data Processing/Consolidation: 
    • Create SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data, ensuring data pipelines are efficient and well-maintained for accurate reporting and analysis.
    • Leverage Snowflake’s capabilities to integrate data from various resources and perform complex queries to optimize processes. 
    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines in Snowflake to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design data models, ETL processes, and data visualizations in Snowflake.
    • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions in Snowflake to support data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, data visualization, and SQL programming.
  • Power BI: Strong experience with Power BI and other data visualization tools.
  • PowerPoint Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to create visually appealing and professional presentations in PowerPoint, with a strong understanding of design principles and brand consistency.
  • Proficiency in SQL (including advanced queries, stored procedures, and database optimization).
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data architecture, and data modelling.
  • Familiarity with AMOS planned maintenance systems and Oracle databases is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL, ETL pipelines, and data architecture. Ability to work with large, complex datasets and create scalable data solutions. Proficiency in extracting and manipulating data across systems.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to analyze trends, identify patterns, and create actionable insights. High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Communication – Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Visual Design: Strong ability to create visually compelling and informative data visualizations, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in communicating insights.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solver: Ability to work cross-functionally with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to solve complex data problems and deliver impactful insights.

Travel:  No or very little travel likely. Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
