This role holds enterprisescale category ownership for critical technical commodities and projects, with accountability for developing and executing corporate sourcing strategies that leverage the company’s global scale. The position serves as a trusted advisor to senior technical and operational stakeholders, leading complex vendor development, commercial negotiations, and riskinformed contracting activities. The role coordinates crossbrand sourcing initiatives to unlock global value, provides datadriven recommendations to leadership, and ensures disciplined compliance with corporate governance and policies.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical sourcing experience within a cruise line, shipping company, shipbuilder, engine manufacturer, or similarly complex assetintensive environment. A degree in business or engineering is required, along with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills and a proven track record of delivering measurable source value in a complex, dynamic, global organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute enterprisescale sourcing strategies aligned with corporate objectives, applying a disciplined, structured sourcing methodology.

  • Own and manage strategic supplier relationships, driving longterm value, performance improvement, and risk mitigation across critical technical categories.

  • Partner with senior technical, operational, and purchasing stakeholders to shape priorities, align sourcing strategies, and deliver business outcomes.

  • Lead rigorous commercial and bid evaluations, recommending optimal suppliers and contract structures to maximize total value and manage commercial and operational risk.

  • Advise senior leadership on sourcing strategies and contract approaches, informed by market intelligence, supplier dynamics, and industry best practices.

  • Monitor global market conditions and industry trends, proactively identifying risks and opportunities and translating insights into actionable sourcing strategies.

  • Communicate complex commercial and strategic insights clearly and persuasively to secure stakeholder alignment and executive sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Scope: Strategic Sourcing is accountable for driving and delivering the sourcing strategies for marine & technical operations, and cruise new builds for all brands within Carnival Corporation. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is an integral part of the Sourcing Team, supporting the development of complex global sourcing strategies relating to ships in operation and new build activities. Specifically, the role will cover the following categories and associated spend impact: HVAC ($115 M), Ships Services ($130 M0, Ship Management ($9 M), and Dry Docks ($200-300 M).

  • Problem solving: Strong process orientation, able to apply clarity of purpose and define simple, robust operating processes. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Strong financial analysis skills, with experience of through life cost analysis.

  • Impact: Concise and influential communicator, to drive business decisions on complex issues with clarity and credibility to a cross functional audience of varied experience and seniority. Delivering sustainable changes through providing insight and by effectively influencing key stakeholders. Delivers significant financial cost savings to the corporation through complex negotiations and leveraging newbuild spend. Promotion of best Sourcing practice in the Corporate Shipbuilding area, and to the wider corporation. Participate in external/wider corporate Sourcing activities on cross operating lines Sourcing initiatives.

  • Leadership: No direct reports associated with the role.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in business, engineering, supply chain, or similar discipline.

  • CPSM, CPM, CPIS or PMP preferred.

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in procurement and strategic sourcing within a maritime or marineadjacent environment, such as a cruise line, shipping company, shipbuilder, engine OEM, or comparable assetintensive technical industry.

  • Demonstrated success operating across complex global maritime supply chains, aligning category and sourcing strategies with enterpriselevel business and operational objectives.

  • Proven experience in category management, including development and execution of multiyear, enterprisescale sourcing strategies for technical or marine categories.

  • Advanced expertise in strategic sourcing and commercial disciplines, including supplier assessment and development, competitive bid evaluation, contract and commercial law, value analysis, negotiation, supply chain analytics, and evaluation of economic and market drivers.

  • Strong track record of influencing and aligning senior stakeholders across a matrixed organization, delivering measurable business results beyond direct functional authority.

  • High technological proficiency/agility.

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. 

Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
