The Manager, Technical Delivery is responsible for leading and overseeing a team of Technical Delivery Project Managers within Global Gaming, ensuring projects are executed with discipline, consistency, and alignment to Technical Delivery PMO governance standards.

This role reports to the Technical Delivery Director and is accountable for driving successful delivery of IT initiatives across multiple brands by ensuring projects are managed within scope, schedule, and budget. The Manager partners closely with Application Owners and the PMO Governance Lead to ensure adherence to standardized processes, tools, and methodologies.

In addition to team leadership, the role actively manages complex projects and maintains full visibility across the project portfolio, providing guidance, escalation support, and hands-on intervention when needed to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

Essential Functions:

Team Leadership & PM Capability Development 

  • Manage and lead a team of ~5 Technical Delivery Project Managers

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management

  • Ensure consistency in project execution, reporting, and governance adherence

  • Support career development and growth of PMs

Project Oversight & Delivery Assurance 

  • Maintain full visibility across all projects managed by direct-report PMs

  • Review project plans, status reports, risks, issues, and financials

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope

  • Provide escalation support and intervene proactively when delivery is at risk

Strategic Alignment & Governance Compliance 

  • Ensure all projects align with PMO Governance frameworks and processes

  • Partner with PMO Governance Lead to enforce standards and discipline

  • Work closely with Application Owners to ensure alignment with business priorities

  • Ensure compliance with IT, security, and brand-specific governance requirements

Project Execution & Hands-On Delivery 

  • Manage complex or strategic projects directly as needed

  • Take ownership of projects when PMs are unavailable (e.g., OOO coverage)

  • Support requirements gathering, planning, execution, testing, and release

  • Ensure consistency across all lifecycle phases

Stakeholder Management & Communication 

  • Provide executive-level reporting and portfolio visibility

  • Act as primary escalation point for stakeholders

  • Facilitate alignment across IT, business, and cross-brand teams

  • Ensure clear, consistent communication across all delivery initiatives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Scope: This role operates at a global, enterprise level, overseeing IT project delivery for Global Gaming across multiple Carnival brands. The position is responsible for managing a team of Project Managers and ensuring consistent execution across a diverse and complex project portfolio. The scope includes end-to-end oversight of delivery processes, governance adherence, portfolio performance, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination across IT, business, and vendor teams.

  • Problem solving: The role requires solving complex leadership and delivery challenges, including: Managing competing priorities across multiple projects and stakeholders. Identifying risks and dependencies across a portfolio of initiatives. Resolving delivery issues related to scope, schedule, resources, and technical constraints. Balancing governance enforcement with delivery flexibility. Supporting PMs in resolving escalations and complex project challenges. This role demands strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments.

  • Impact: This role has significant impact across Global Gaming IT delivery: Directly influences project success rates and delivery performance. Drives consistency, discipline, and adherence to PMO governance. Improves predictability in project planning, execution, and monitoring. Enhances transparency and executive visibility into project health. Enables alignment of IT delivery with business objectives.

  • Leadership: This is a people leadership role with strong delivery accountability: Directly manages a team of Project Managers (~5 direct reports). Provides coaching, guidance, and performance management. Influences cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, and business stakeholders. Acts as a key leader within Technical Delivery organization.

Essential/Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field

  • 3–5 years of experience managing Project Managers or leading delivery teams

  • 5–8+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)

  • Hands-on experience with PM tools (MS Project, Wrike, Monday.com, Azure DevOps)

  • Solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and application delivery

Essential experience required

  • Proven experience managing IT project teams and overseeing multiple concurrent projects

  • Experience in full project lifecycle delivery (initiation, requirements, design, testing, release, closure)

  • Experience reviewing and validating project plans, status reporting, risks, issues, and financials

  • Experience supporting testing strategies, test execution, and release coordination​

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, and business stakeholders ​​

  • Experience implementing or adhering to PMO governance frameworks and standards ​​

  • Experience managing project dependencies, resource allocation, and competing priorities ​​

  • Experience in hospitality, gaming, or multi-brand enterprise environments (preferred)

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions:Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Physical Demands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
