Manager, Housekeeping & Laundry Projects

The Manager of Housekeeping and Laundry Projects leads the planning, execution and follow-up of fleetwide housekeeping and laundry projects that keep Carnival vessels aligned to brand appearance standards.

The position owns housekeeping brand standards for staterooms, public areas and meeting spaces, including new builds, dry docks and refurbishments along with floor care and upholstery program planning, shipboard signage, and uniform vendor liaison. High importance on project planning for dry-docks and in-service work and coordinating same with stakeholders in refurbishment, design as well as shipboard management.

This position owns R&M and CAPEX budgeting, forecasting and tracking for soft goods and housekeeping equipment, including vendor relationships and negotiations. 

Responsibilities 

• Brand standards and project planning. Develop project plans, presentations and SOPs covering fleetwide housekeeping brand standards for vessel look and upkeep (upholstery, furniture and carpet). Oversee implementation, monitors progress and engagement, recommends adjustments, and ensures shipboard leaders follow published procedures.

• Look Book and guest-facing standards. Creates and maintains standard Look Book guidelines for staterooms, public areas, meeting spaces and restrooms. Partners with Newbuilds, Refurbishment, Design, Hotel Maintenance/FMM and Guest Operations leaders so every element stays consistent and tracked across the fleet.

• Dry dock and project logistics. Leads ordering and logistics for fleetwide housekeeping projects and builds and executes department dry dock plans. Represents the department at dry dock meetings, supports new and alternative product sourcing, allocates CAPEX and R&M funds by ship, and resolves product, delivery and vendor issues raised by the ships.

• Floor care and upholstery traveling teams. Builds the annual plan and schedule for the Floor Care and Upholstery traveling teams across dry dock and in-service maintenance. Partners with Crew Operations on manning and scheduling communicates the plan to stakeholders, and confirms each ship's requirements are met on budget without disrupting guest service.

• Budget, vendor and purchasing management. Owns budgeting, forecasting and tracking of R&M and CAPEX for soft goods and housekeeping equipment. Manages vendor relationships and negotiations, approves daily purchases and purchase orders, and maintains inventory control standards.

• Uniforms and shipboard signage. Partners with shipboard department heads, Marketing, Entertainment and Newbuilds to develop, order and refresh onboard uniforms and permanent signage fleetwide. Tracks signage by ship class, supports vendor negotiation and cost-efficiency reviews, and ensures DEI standards and Look Book consistency are met.

• Training and communication tools. Develops the “Two-Minute Trainer” and similar tools with fleet housekeeping managers and directors to guide shipboard teams on R&M, CAPEX and system use (AMOS, AIMS, TGEM), supporting accurate requisition placement, tracking and execution.

Knowledge & Skills

• Scope: Responsible for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of fleetwide housekeeping and laundry projects across Carnival Cruise Line vessels. The role supports both shipboard and shoreside operations, ensuring consistent brand standards for guest accommodations and public spaces. Oversees dry dock, refurbishment, and newbuild housekeeping initiatives, while managing CAPEX and R&M budgets, vendor partnerships, and operational programs that impact guest satisfaction and fleet appearance
• Problem Solving: Addresses complex operational, budgetary, and logistical challenges related to housekeeping projects, dry dock activities, vendor performance, and fleet maintenance requirements. Evaluates data, project timelines, and ship-specific needs to identify risks, develop solutions, and balance operational priorities while minimizing disruption to guest experience and shipboard operations. Requires sound judgment, project management expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues effectively.
• Impact: Directly influences the appearance, cleanliness, and overall guest experience across the fleet by establishing and maintaining housekeeping brand standards. The role drives efficient use of CAPEX and R&M resources, supports successful project execution during dry docks and refurbishments, and contributes to cost optimization through vendor management and strategic sourcing. Decisions made in this role have broad operational and financial impact across multiple vessels and departments..
• Leadership: Provides leadership and direction for fleetwide housekeeping initiatives and project teams, including Floor Care and Upholstery traveling teams. Influences shipboard and shoreside stakeholders through planning, communication, training, and change management. Builds strong partnerships across Guest Operations, Newbuilds, Refurbishment, Design, Hotel Maintenance, Procurement, and vendor organizations to successfully execute projects and maintain operational excellence

Essential/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business or a related field.

• Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting and CAPEX/R&M tracking.

• Strong analytical skills, including reporting in Excel and Tableau.

• Strong creative and brand-building skills.

• Project management across multiple concurrent shipboard initiatives.

• Vendor sourcing, negotiation and relationship management.

• Working knowledge of HESS procedures.

• Proficiency with Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Copilot, etc..

Essential Experience Required:

• 5+ years of Housekeeping leadership onboard a cruise ship or in a land-based hotel preferred.

Travel Required: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
