Responsibilities
The Manager, Global HESS System is responsible for management and continuous improvement of the Corporate Safety Management System (Global HESS) for current and future platforms. This role will liaise with many stakeholders across various departments within Carnival Corporation as well as all management companies and brands for all of the functions available in the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, the audits/investigations/inspections tracking system, certificate management module, Self-Reported Non-Conformities, organizational entity management systems (HAP, Global Ports, CSMART, etc.), environmental exceptions, event reporting, electronic permits, and risk assessments.
Essential Functions:
Management and support of the administration of all functions (listed in the job summary) of the corporation's Safety Management System (Global HESS).
Assist with projects for the expansion of Global HESS by incorporating all entity (CSMART, CCS, HAP, Global Ports, etc.) and other non-HESS areas in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with the corporate leads for event reporting and respective working group to support needs for standardization, governance, training, and functionality.
Collaborate with the corporate leads for electronic permits and risk assessments, and respective working group to support needs for standardization, governance, training, and functionality.
Co-management of significant Global HESS content and system projects, ensuring the system remains both intuitive and accessible to users at all levels.
Develop plans and supporting artifacts for enhancement development, deployment, user acceptance testing, change management, and training.
Contribute to and support the development of reports related to all data captured within the system.
Work on special projects as assigned by Direct and Indirect line management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
5+ years’ experience with administration of rules and regulations and compliance oversight.
Experience with Incident and event reporting
Experience with software application oversight and general project management knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This role requires the ability to work accurately and consistently with little support. Critical examination of information is routinely required as is the need to make considered judgement based upon operational knowledge and experience/understanding of legacy content. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to evaluate content across all HESS disciplines. Sensitivity to commercial considerations is critical together with an ability to construct sound arguments for a particular course of action.
Demonstrated ability to manage logical processes within structured databases
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build rapport and professionally interact at all levels within the organization
Proficient analytical skills, thorough and accurate, able to identify key issues, interpret information and present recommendations and conclusions
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Detail oriented and committed to accuracy.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications
Ability to compile data and generate reporting
Ability to multi-task and effectively communicate results and recommendations both orally and in writing to both internal and external contacts
Flexible and team oriented
Creativity, intelligence, strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
