Responsibilities
To effectively prepare and manage all ship’ s loading schedules and complete the monthly Centergate loading schedule. Arrange and manage all domestic movements booked as LTL, FTL and or special equipment such as flatbeds. Arrange airfreights pending on the urgency to service the ship. Work closely with our import department to assist with their moves from the point of entry to Centergate or directly to the ships. Manage all bulk mattress pickups from our vendor’s location and work closely with onboard staff on a re-delivery schedule. Help audit all freight invoices and billing before the coding takes place.
Job Functions:
- Arrange and manage all domestic movement requests of freight from vendors to the ships or to Centergate.
- Prepare and manage all ship’s loading schedules. Those schedules tie into the homeport calls of the ship and keep the ship supplied with all goods.
- Manage bulk shipment pickups and special pickups from vendor’s locations and work closely with onboard staff on a re-delivery schedule to the ships.
- Help audit all freight invoices and billing before the coding takes place. The key here is to review consolidated invoices, single invoices related to all over the road movements.
- Complete the monthly Centergate loading schedule. That schedule is completed mid-month for the following month and instructs all stakeholders by when to deliver and by when to have trucks lined up.
- Assist with shipboard inquiries related to trucking from Centergate. This step is either through emails or phone calls. Ships are on a tight time schedule and it is of utmost importance to have all deliveries on time to the ship.
- Work closely with our import team to move freight from point of entry to Centergate or directly to the ship. To assist the team based on arrival time and ship’s need to receive onboard.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates Degree in Logistics management, working knowledge of accounting principles
- Must have strong command of Microsoft Office programs including advance level of Excel
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
- Strong attention to detail, high level of flexibility and ability to function in a dynamic environment.
- Analytical and organizational skills, good leadership skills, creative thinker and solutions oriented, second language preferably Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years working in a supervisory role or training in logistics and warehouse operations. Familiar with truck dispatch and ordering of special equipment.
- Managing and understanding truck scheduling and movements over the roado or via air.
- Flatbed and ocean container booking and Must Warehouse cross dock operation, basic truck dispatch experience.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-office.” Because of the nature of the role, employees are required to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida five days each week. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
