Responsibilities
The Sr. IT Manager of Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for leading the company's IT infrastructure, overseeing operations, and ensuring the effective development and management of IT services. This role involves collaborating with various departments to meet evolving business and customer needs within the scope of ITIL 4's structured approach to IT service management. The Sr. IT Manager will work closely with the Managed Services provider for support and various PMs on GTS/GMIS managers and project leads. The ideal candidate will actively assist in resolving incidents and lead their team to do the same. Experience with AIOps is a plus. Flexibility with work hours is required due to the 24x7 operations of ships and a workforce in various countries.
Essential Functions:
- Strategically oversee the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring robust and scalable systems to support business operations. This role will ensure consistent IT system operations that support major maritime programs such as Crew Management, Ship Inventory and Hess. These systems are Global and used by all brands - this role will be responsible for supporting all 95 ships across the fleet.
- Lead the Production GTS/GMIS infrastructure in the Cloud and the GMIS stack on ships utilizing AIOps techniques with the MS provider. (all ships across all brands). This AiOps initiative is a key initiated for the company to provide the business more reliable systems.
- Lead the Test and Dev GTS/GMIS infrastructure in the Cloud and the GMIS stack on ships utilizing AIOps techniques with the MS provider
- Lead and mentor IT Operations team members and PMs, and provide technical guidance on infrastructure projects. Ensure alignment with operational goals and contribute to the successful implementation of solutions that enhance the end-user experience. They will manage 10 direct reports. They will also co-manage the Managed services support vendor.
- Implement and institutionalize best practices and frameworks with a strong emphasis on ITIL 4's structures approach. Continuously improve team maturity, process efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Oversee the development and management of the team's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Monitor expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary and financial goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required or Master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ year experience in a management role
- 5+ years’ experience leading a large organization IT department
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Technical:
- Network Architecture: Understanding of network design, implementation, and management.
- Cloud Services: Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Data Center Operations: Knowledge of data center management, including hardware, software, and facilities.
- Cybersecurity: Strong grasp of security principles and practices to protect IT infrastructure.
- 5ystem Administration: Expertise in managing servers, storage, and virtualization technologies.
- Strategic:
- Strategic Planning: Ability to align IT infrastructure with business goals and develop long-term strategies.
- Budget Management: Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effective use of resources. (Budget = ~$2m)
- Process Improvement: Continuously improving IT processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Leadership:
- Team Management - Leading and managing IT teams effectively (~10 FTEs and contractors and a MS Support vendor)
- Communication - strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders at various levels
- Project Management: Overseeing IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet business objectives.
- Soft Skills:
- Problem Solving - Quickly identifying and resolving issues within the IT infrastructure.
- Adaptability - Staying current with emerging technologies and adapting to changes
- Collaboration - working well with other departments and fostering collaborative environment.
- Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.
- Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills
- Abilities: Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Travel: 25-50% with shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work may require employee to work inside and/or outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
