Fuel Performance and Decarbonization Sr. Analyst

Responsible for creating fuel budgets and forecasts for North America brands [HAL/SBN]. Develop fuel modelling tools and provide analytical insights to optimize fleet fuel consumption and fuel bunkering costs. Responsible for ensuring fuel change orders and bunker forecast variations are kept to a minimum. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of fuel consumption reporting as per regulatory standards and as outlined in vessel’s Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans. Construct fuel consumption reports, Power BI dashboards for weekly performance reports and for management and ship senior management review. Liaise with other departments for fuel consumption analysis and vessel performance improvement. Assist other tasks as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for creating fuel budgets and forecasts for HAL/SBN fleet. Develop fuel modelling tools and provide analytical insights to optimize fleet fuel consumption 

• Create short and long-term fuel lift plans to ensure optimized fuel costs. Track fuel change orders, bunker forecast variances & follow-up with the ships to ensure variances are kept to a minimum

• Responsible for providing weekly and monthly fuel performance reports with variance explanations for operations and finance close procedures. Attend monthly fuel & energy performance meetings with ships and technical operations

• Ensuring accuracy of fuel consumption reporting as per regulatory standards and as outlined in vessel’s Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans. Assist in implementation of SEEMP Part 1 and 2 (DCS / MRV /FuelEU reporting)

• Visualize / Perform analysis of fuel consumption, fuel bunkering & related KPIs and other ad-hoc analysis depending on department needs

• Complete monthly fuel tax exemption certificates & ad-hocs

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Finance or Business Management

• 4+ years demonstrated experience in relevant role in lieu of bachelor’s degree

• 3+ years of experience in relevant role i.e. energy management, marine operations, fuel and energy consumption, technical projects

• 2-3 years of experience in energy management, fuel & energy consumption, marine / port operations preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of marine fuels & bunkering operations, shipboard operations, energy efficiency and numerical modeling. 

• Strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques. 

• Advanced proficiency in excel. Ability to handle large quantities of data.

• Coding background in Python or any other language is a plus.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities.

Travel:Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
Workplace Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as “in-office.”As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
