Support the Technical Operations Manager, Hotel Superintendent and Technical Operations Director by managing logistical, administrative and procurement tasks involved in ship maintenance. This includes the development of execution plans for services delegated by the Technical Ship Leaders, completion of items identified in service order checklists, timely delivery for services and parts required by ships and processing approved requisitions.

Proactively follows up on delinquent PO's and cabin requests, among others. Serves as point of contact for all ship technical issues when the Technical Operations Manager is unavailable. Monitors data collected from ship technical performance reporting to provide recommendations for long-term technical operations planning. Responsible for taking on and following up on tasking from TOM's as related to their ships.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for ship maintenance including the development of execution plans for services delegated by the Technical Ship Leaders, completion of items identified in service order checklists, and timely delivery for services and parts required by ships and processing approved requisitions. Follow up with purchasing for overdue items and provide frequent status updates to Technical Ship Leader as required.

  • Provide support to Technical Operations Managers for the annual planning and budgeting process, weekly meetings, ship maintenance requirements, identification of service providers, and others as required.

  • Serve as back up to the Technical Operations Manager in providing support for all ship technical issues as required. Including onboard ship visits such as: HESS Audits, USCG Inspections, Class Surveys/Audits, etc.

  • Support the TOD and TOM in tracking Lloyds Register Condition of Class (CoC), Statutory Deficiencies (SD), Actionable Items (AI) related to the ships of the assigned POD. Monitor CD Live, create and own a tracking sheet and a weekly FOC update slide.

  • Collaborate and communicate cross-functionally with shared services to book cabins and acquire riding teams for assigned ships as needed to service ship requirements.

  • Collect and analyze technical performance data to support shipboard operations and assist Technical Ship Leaders in developing solutions and long-term plans. Drive continuous improvement by proposing innovative alternatives, supporting decision-making, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and enhance communication and reporting through data analysis and automation tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Ability to learn quickly. Comfortable learning new software or systems used in maintenance, procurement, and ship operations (Infoship, AMOS, SharePoint, internal dashboards).

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Project (Gantt Chart), and Word. Experience with data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI is a strong plus for supporting analysis.

  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills for frequent interactions with Shoreside staff and shipboard team.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with others from multiple departments across CCL.

  • Outgoing and able to work in a diverse team.

  • Knowledge of marine technical and regulatory compliance.

  • Organizational skills to coordinate multiple ship activities simultaneously.

  • 3–5 years of experience in technical operations, marine engineering, or shipboard maintenance.

  • The role supports the Technical Operations Manager, Hotel Superintendent, and Technical Operations Director by managing logistical, administrative, and procurement tasks essential to ship maintenance operations.

  • Responsibilities extend to developing execution plans for delegated services, processing requisitions, and ensuring the timely delivery of services and parts to ships.

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for ship technical issues in the absence of the Technical Operations Manager, with reach across multiple ships and departments.

  • Monitors and analyzes ship technical performance data to inform long-term operational planning.

  • Handles complex logistical and administrative challenges, such as coordinating multiple service orders and resolving procurement delays.

  • Proactively identifies and follows up on outstanding purchase orders and cabin requests, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.

  • Analyzes technical performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement.

  • Serves as the technical point of contact, troubleshooting and resolving ship technical issues when senior management is unavailable.

  • Directly influences the efficiency and effectiveness of ship maintenance operations by ensuring timely procurement and delivery of critical parts and services.

  • Supports operational continuity by proactively addressing delinquent purchase orders and cabin requests, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.

  • Provides recommendations based on technical performance data, contributing to strategic decision-making and long-term planning for technical operations.

  • Enhances communication and coordination between shipboard and shore-based teams, improving overall technical support and service delivery.

  • Demonstrates leadership by taking ownership of delegated tasks and following up on assignments from Technical Operations Managers.

  • Leads by example in communication, organization, and problem resolution, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams, including shipboard and shore-based personnel, to ensure alignment and effective execution of maintenance activities.

  • Provides guidance and support to colleagues, promoting best practices in technical operations and procurement processes.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.  Occasionally walk for an extended amount of time during dry dock period.

Travel:  25-50% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work beyond normal business hours or on weekends may be required occasionally to support business needs, projects, or operations.

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
