Job Description


The Human Resources Associate supports the efficient operations of the HR department by assisting with talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and other HR functions at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destinations. The role also involves handling special assignments and providing general support to ensure smooth HR operations across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. HRIS Management and Reporting 

  • Manage HR Information System (HRIS) by tracking employee data such as sick days, vacation, overtime, and other leave.
  • Ensure accurate and timely information for management and employees.
  • Maintain HR and employee records and perform necessary administrative tasks.
  • Generate and submit monthly reports on HR activities, metrics, and employee benefits.
  • Prepare or assist with HR correspondence as needed.

2. Employee Lifecycle Support 

  • Support new employee onboarding and coordinate departmental and site training activities.
  • Act as a resource for employees throughout their employment lifecycle, including onboarding, development, and exit processes.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and management

3. Talent Acquisition and HR Operations

  • Collaborate with managers on employment changes, including hiring, leaves, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Support talent acquisition by assisting with job fairs, job postings, interview preparation, reference checks, and offer letters.
  • Perform general HR administrative tasks to support day-to-day operations.

4. Compliance and Policy Support 

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and local employment regulations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Support managers and supervisors with HR-related guidance and best practices.
  • Perform other role-related duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS SPECIFICS:

  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) required Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts, processes, trends and terminology related to Human Resources administration 
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (OneNote, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams); familiarity with other relevant tools, technologies and applications relevant to the role 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills 
  • Highly motivated with the willingness to learn and adapt to ever-changing tasks and environments 
  • Ability to focus on the details and ensure accuracy in work 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (HR), Business Administration, or a related field required. SHRM-CP or similar certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR generalist or a similar customer service-focused role required 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests 
  • Proficient in reading and writing English to understand and interpret procedures, give and receive instructions, and effectively communicate with guests, managers, and co-workers. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods and occasionally stand or walk short distances. 
  • Ability to lift and carry light objects, such as parcels or office supplies, typically up to 25 pounds. 
  • Ability to reach above and below shoulder level, and handle or grasp documents and office equipment. 
  • All island employees must be physically capable of participating in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills, with full range of motion in arms and legs, and full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities to give and receive instructions during emergencies. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is primarily conducted in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazards 
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and/or evenings as needed
