Responsibilities
The Sr. Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing purchasing operations for Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Seabourn to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. Indirect includes the following sub-categories: marketing, human resources, entertainment, professional services, facilities, shoreX, and onboard revenue.
Job Functions:
- Manage Purchasing Operations: Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities, including PO placement, tracking shipments, and managing suppliers to ensure flow of products/services to company is unhindered.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve issues related to missed shipments, delays, and other supply chain disruptions.
- Performance Monitoring: Implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track the efficiency and effectiveness of purchasing activities with Suppliers. Internally gains efficiency improvement through task elimination, simplification, standardization, and digitization
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 5-9 purchasing professionals, providing guidance, clear direction and effective feedback to achieve departmental goals. Develop, coach and provide training as needed. Continuously improve skill level of team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders and other departments, such as sourcing, logistics and finance to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Hospitality, or other applicable discipline
- CPSM/CPM or comparable is preferred but not required
- 7 + years’ experience in purchasing with at least 3 years in a managerial role - Experience leading indirect (non-IT) purchasing teams and initiatives utilizing best practices in procure-to-pay processes; Expertise in influencing business strategy and supplier relations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and interact with all levels of the organization – can interface independently and effectively with peers in other departments / brands with an emphasis on being results oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize changing workload requests to meet deadlines.
- Strong, proven analytical skills (data analysis fundamentals)
- Strong negotiation skills developed through purchasing environment experience.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Aggressive “go getter”, driven, capable of working with little supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; champion of change management; strong planning/project management skills.
- Uses quality management skills to ensure all procedures and work activities conform to work specifications and standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Scope: This position works closely with functional stakeholder management teams across the North American Brands (NASC) and suppliers to ensure products and services are purchased according to company policies and procedures. This role requires someone with leadership experience, business savvy, and the ability to influence spend decisions.
- Impact: The Sr. Procurement Manager will impact the business across all NA brands as an implementation partner, dedicated to the practical aspects of purchasing to ensure smooth operations.
- Leadership: This position will oversee a team of 5-9 purchasing professionals, providing leadership in best practices, career development and team collaboration.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

- Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
