Under the general supervision of the Director of North America Casino Operations & Analytics, the Manager of Operational Analytics is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve corporate performance by analyzing and optimizing all aspects of the casino operations and relevant areas including revenue, costs, forecasts, general operations, marketing, and gaming industry specific data (i.e. slot performance, volatility, and hold) . This position will perform objective analysis of gaming operations, present findings & recommendations to Operations Management under the guidance of the Director of Casino Operations. The individual will function as the key liaison between Global Casino Operations and our cruise brands, in order to ensure that we are effectively aligning our efforts and focus with the various business opportunities to achieve the greatest return for the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Through analysis of key performance data, identify ways in which yield from key revenue sources may be improved
  • Utilize and enhance department KPI’s and reporting to challenge team and drive improvement in team's results. Identify and implement corrective action when off-track.
  • Perform ad hoc and regular cadence analytics and reporting that supports current goals and business initiatives
  • Prepare and present executive summary of analytical and operational results for the senior management on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Prepare and present proposals to support trials of initiatives. If approved, initiate trials on test ships, monitor results and provide reports to senior management
  • Monitor results of casino marketing initiatives and assist in analysis of data to inform future marketing plans and new initiatives
  • Ensure processes are in place to measure overall effectiveness of casino assets and ensure assets are continuously maximized
  • Create collaboration tools for onboard teams and work to remove or reduce intra and interdepartmental communication barriers. Create a forum for revenue generating ideas
  • Provide business support to operations team as needed and interface with strategic customers when required
  • Attend and participate in key business unit leadership meetings and collaborate with analytical teams within Global Casino Operations and brand partners

 Qualifications:

  • Preferred Education:  Bachelor’s degree
  • Additional education/certifications:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.   
  • Years &area of Professional experience (required for the role)  5-7 years
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.  Proven analytical and organizational skills to meet deadlines in an environment of often-changing priorities.  Conceptual thinker with strong analytical skills. Creative yet practical problem solver.  Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.  Highly driven and self-motivated, with an entrepreneurial spirit.  Ability to flourish in a multi-cultural environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Skilled in the use of personal computers and other office equipment. Strong software skills a must, especially with query/reporting tools used for statistical analysis.  Skilled in research, audit & problem solving.  Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in work product. Superior written & oral communication skills. Effective communicator in framing and presenting a concept or hypotheses.  Self-motivated with ability to work independently.  Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to learn and adapt to change. Ability to recognize positive and negative trends affecting the business.  Must be able to work both remotely and within an office environment
  • Critical Professional related Technical Skills; Computer Skills:  Commanding knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Hyperion, Tableau or comparable BI applications or query tools.  SQL, Java, Oracle, data warehousing, and BI experience is a strong plus.

Decision-Making:

  • Tactical:  Decisions focus on intermediate-term issues.  The purpose of decisions made at this level are to help move CCL closer to reaching strategic goals.  Outcomes are predictable.  After a decision is made by Top Executive Leadership, the next phase is to take the needed steps to implement it.  Examples are: The amount of money required to implement which advertising agency to promote a new service or to provide an incentive plan to employees to encourage increased revenue.  (Typically, Directors+)

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.  Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.  May need to stand for long periods of time. 

Travel:  Less than 25% with non-shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions:  Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s salary $75,900-$115,000.  Offers to the selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
