As a Senior Architect, Network Engineer, you will produce network technical roadmaps that advance the technical baseline and address both technical and business factors. You will lead engineering assessments and select investments for a range of network technologies across LAN/WAN/wireless/Security/Cloud, and develop evolving strategies for network technology deployment within the enterprise.

You will collaborate with business and IT to understand requirements, ensuring opportunities are properly interpreted, well-understood, and clearly documented. You will architect, design, and implement network solutions to meet business requirements.

This role involves determining when resource, technology, or application constraints warrant changes to the solution design and modifying the conceptual design accordingly. You will review conceptual designs to ensure scalability, applicability, quality, and comprehensiveness.

Finally, you will lead the innovation of our network services while maintaining knowledge of current and emerging technologies and products related to architecture solutions.

Job Functions:

Design: 

  • Lead the Network efforts by managing all of the following, but not limited to local area networks, wide area networks, virtual private networks, and wireless networks, cloud networking, application delivery, network security. 
  • Utilize automation platforms and scripting language for mass deployment.
  • Design hardware components, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points, network function virtualization as well as troubleshoot network connectivity issues with these technologies. 
  • Provide direction and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.
  • Coordinate network changes and communicate with impacted stakeholders.

Innovation: 

  • Research and keep up to date with advances and changes in the technology industry.
  • Lead the innovation of our network services. 
  • Collaborate with team members to test and pilot new technologies. 

Support: 

  • Provide system support and troubleshooting expertise as needed for designed solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Required, Masters Degree Preferred.  Major/Discipline:  Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Required certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Preferred certifications: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Juniper (JNCIE), Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture and design of complex network within in large enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in least one major manufacture such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, HPE/Aruba and Cisco for Layer 2/3 network switching, wireless Network technology, Firewall technology, SDN and WAN.
  • 5+ years of experience with large multicasting network. 
  • 5+ years of experience in ITIL and IT project management via various SDLCs (i.e. Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, etc.)
  • 5+ years of participating in cross-functional technology teams.
  • 1+ years in the cruise and/or travel industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Routing/Switching, DC/LAN/WAN/Wireless 
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud networking with AWS, Azure and GCP 
  • Strong knowledge of Network Security – Firewall, IPS, NAC, VPN, SASE, AAA, etc. 
  • Strong knowledge of dynamic routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP Reliable Layer2 spanning tree design 
  • Strong understanding of MPLS VPN, EVPN and VXLAN technology 
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking with AWS, Azure and GCP 
  • Strong knowledge in various network security technology such as Firewall, IPS, AV, Micro-segmentation, Zero-Day attack, Cloud security group management, Secure Access Service Edge, Remote Access VPN and Authentication servers/MFA. 
  • Strong knowledge of XML, DNS, DHCP 
  • Strong knowledge of Hypervisor such as KVM or VMWare
  • Strong knowledge F5 and Netscaler Application Delivery Controllers 
  • Ability to think critically, problem solve creatively and perform root cause analysis. 
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with a strong business sense. 
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload, and achieve effective results. 
  • Ability to write comprehensive and concise technical communications (i.e. email, reports, presentations) to be consumed by non-technical individuals.   
  • Ability to create PowerPoint presentations that are informative and engaging and deliver them to various audiences including management. 
  • Very good communication, team building, conflict management, and organizational skills. 
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively with cross functional teams to achieve common goals and drive results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts.

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. 

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.  

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. 

Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
