Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Senior Programmer/Developer. The Senior Programmer/Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting Maritime business related applications/solutions leveraging an array of technologies (e.g., AWS SaaS/Cloud, AWS Kinesis, Spark, Lambda, Java, Json, SQL, Oracle Data Intergrader, Oracle/SQL backend dbms). Additional responsibilities include developing solutions which interface directly with our Constant Technologies “Control Point” visualization platform to monitor the health, safety, and operations of our vessels traveling across the world abroad. The successful candidate will also be responsible supporting the applications they develop along with downstream system interfaces plus related system integration efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching/evaluating new technologies, innovations, and development techniques in the market place. Essential Functions

  • Architect/design business solutions which allow ease of augmenting and enhancing such solutions simple
  • Devise frameworks which ease of adoption, sharing, re-use, and interfacing with other Maritime solutions simple
  • Continuously enhance, tune, and optimize developed business solutions for efficiency and top performance gains
  • Manage/support deployed business solutions and platforms via quantifiable KPIs
  • Institute preemptive/proactive monitoring to identify and reduce platform exceptions and performance degradation, while concurrently executing automated self-healing/scaling measures
  • Develop capacity planning/performance metrics with exception reporting for developed business solutions
  • Candidate will deliver training/overviews to IT peer/business contacts alike on all developed business solutions
  • Support One IT Maritime cross-brand governance processes
  • Keep abreast of technology advancements/change in both Cruise and Maritime industries 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science preferred
  • Master of Science in technical field and/or MBA preferred; Certifications in Java, JSON, and visualization technologies highly desired; Maritime/Marine experience big plus
  • 5+yrs lifecycle; 5+ years of proven architectural, design, development, and support experience; 5+yrs Agile Methodology; 3+yrs Business analysis experience
  • Development Skills (5yrs+): Java Script, Java, JSON, .net, Object Oriented design/development, dojo, JQuery, HTML, XML
  • 2-3yrs Control Point Wall Visualization software installation, development, and administration
  • Any Cruise Industry Experience
