Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Principal Analyst, Business Intelligence! The Principal Analyst, BI will be responsible for building and maintaining technology roadmap and design and architecture best practices for advanced analytics and predictive modeling tools and technologies. The Principal Analyst, BI will also design and develop reports, dashboards, data models, data visualizations, predictive models, automated scripts and programs as well as guide and assist analysts and senior analysts in using BI team supported tools and solutions. 


Essential Functions
  • Responsible for designing and developing analytics and predictive models to drive personalization on emails, web experience and targeted offers for higher response and conversion. Assemble and organize the data needed to train predictive models. Automate the data assembly and the scoring process for the model. Monitor the results of the advanced analytical models and develop triggers to identify when model performance is underperforming against criteria. Develop processes to retrain model and build challenger models with new attributes.
  • Develop and lead Center of Excellence for advanced analytics and predictive modeling tools at Carnival. Build and maintain technology roadmap and design and architecture best practices for advanced analytics and predictive modeling tools and technologies. Research new tool versions and help Carnival realize the benefits of upgrades. Engage on selective support tickets on behalf of users with the vendor. Assist with training and onboarding new analysts.
  • Automate manual solutions developed by end users. Work with IT to design data sources that meet reporting and analytics needs. Responsible for CCL cross functional reporting, analytics, targeted offers and automation. Assist CCL business units monitor and improve business performance with data driven and timely decision making using reporting, analytics and automation. Work with business users to review business processes and develop data and reporting requirements and target marketing requirements. Create ad-hoc tools & queries, business analysis/models, dashboards and reports.  Process and analyze large data sets and develop presentations of analysis, trends, metrics and results to management. Perform data visualization to explore trends and relationships in data.
  • Mentor BI analysts and senior analysts. Provide technical guidance on how to apply BI tools to solve business problems and how to improve efficiency and effectiveness of existing BI solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree is preferred in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration,  Digital Marketing, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • BI/Analytical tool certification is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience working in the Business Intelligence/Analytics/Data Science area.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly understand business processes, drivers and KPIs. Clear understanding of BI, Personalization, Database Marketing and Targeted Offers, Analytics and Data Warehousing concepts. Clear understanding of dimensional data models and SQL, systems integration and automation.
  • 6+ years of developer experience with a BI/Analytics tool. 5+ years of experience with SQL and Databases. Experience with SAS Discover/Engage/CI360, Tableau, SAS, Enterprise Miner, R, Python, Web Analytics tools, Hadoop is a plus.
