Candidate Profile

You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, naval architecture, or similarly technically focused marine education.  You are an accomplished and driven project manager / project engineer with experience managing technically complex multi-disciplinary designs; ideally, you have formal project management certification in addition to your technical training. 

You have 1-5 years’ experience in technical Project management, preferably in the maritime, cruise, naval or shipbuilding industries.  You are driven, have a positive attitude and are naturally curious with a strong desire to learn.

We are currently seeking a Marine Technical System Project Manager. This role is in charge of the daily project management for the Strategic Project installations. Position scope will involve the simultaneous planning and execution of projects on multiple ships with multiple vendors and elements of CCL's organization, day to day project management of the Strategic Projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Progressing, managing and directing the design and production efforts associated with the permanent installation of technical strategic projects fleet‐wide
  • Vessel inspection with Fleet Directors, Ship managers, and Chief Engineers to confirm viability and suitability of equipment locations and installation (production) strategy
  • Manage and direct various Design Agents, System Suppliers, and Shipboard Engineers to implement a comprehensive design and work package, once designed and approved
  • Collect, analyze and distribute cost and schedule variance metrics for further reporting as well as manage budget allowance and applicable vendor invoicing
  • Assist the Project Director in coordinating cabin bookings, ship visits and boarding requests and vendor travel
  • Planning and Coordination of vessel installation (production) sequence
  • Coordinating external Owner Responsible contractors and supplies to support the project in its production phase (specialist technicians, owner supply equipment, Class surveyors, etc.)
  • Planning and coordinating team schedules and movements for the Installation Managers and associated support personnel
  • Tracking and reporting of project schedule and cost performance

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline preferred
  • Project Management or any engineering training is a plus
  • 1 to 5 years’ experience in Project Management
  • Multitasking skills are required
  • Project Management experience with technical projects and installations
  • Superior knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Reader XI, and MS Project
  • Must possess a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn
  • Ship design management experience preferable, such as Project Engineer of a complex, multi‐disciplinary design effort
  • Shipboard operational engineering experience (i.e. 1st engineer and above) desirable, but not necessary
  • Experience with ship design, construction and ship technical systems
