Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Director of Financial Systems Support and Governance. This position is responsible for the system support and governance of all global financial systems including the management of all service levels to service level agreements.  The position also administers and manages global outsource support agreements and their associated statements of work for Carnival’s Global Financial Technology Services (GFTS) group as it relates to the Carnival Global Financial System (CGFS) for the company.

The position is tasked with leading the teams (both in-house and outsourced) responsible for providing full system support and governance for our Oracle eBS system, Hyperion, Kofax/MarkView, BlackLine to name a few of the systems we support.  , This individual will have a key role in the global support and management of Carnival’s financial systems in the areas of application support,  governance; support contract management for third party outsourced support vendors and vendor relationship management for outsourced support.

Essential Function:

  • This position will be accountable for the following activities:
  • Leads the GFTS Support & Governance organization which includes: Application support, OpCo service management, Support Service Provider management, ITGC Control maintenance, change management; SOX compliancy, etc.
  • Ensures Priority systems have 24x7 supports and is responsible for appropriate support coverage
  • Leads the team responsible for ensuring that the Oracle eBusiness Suite (eBS) system is providing timely and accurate reporting of the Company’s financial data results.  This includes timely resolutions of incidents and change requests and proactive management of these items
  • Manages day-to-day relationship with the Service Provider to ensure the effective delivery of outsourced services to the Brands
  • Maintains system performance and appropriate monitoring to ensure quality performance metrics are established and followed
  • Responsible for maintaining and testing the Disaster Recovery Plan and Business Continuity Plan
  • Establishes policies and procedures, which may include the establishment and maintenance of department SharePoint site content, access, other related tools/tables, etc.
  • Supports all systems and Interfaces that may interface with eBS including but not limited to: interfaces from legacy systems to eBS, customization development items, Custom and Oracle FSG, reporting, OBIEE Reporting, Kofax/Markview, Blackline, Hyperion Planning, IT2, and Lease Accelerator
  • Negotiates amendments or new services and any other issues requiring contractual resolution of outsourced support providers
  • Responsible for the invoice recharge plan and forecast of service costs for financial systems managed by GFTS as well as communication of recharge to OpCos
  • Responsible for the support and patching process for all CGFS systems
  • Responsible for the management of IT Governance of CGFS and security access to the financial system on a Global level
  • Ensures that quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity measurements are tracked and reviewed with OpCos and Service Provider personnel
  • Serves as a member of the Change Review Board (CRB) for all system changes and is responsible for the presentation of CRB items for review
  • Presents Efficiency Improvements to Senior Management
  • Establishes and maintains communication related to service level reporting, customer survey results and distributes to all related parties to ensure complete transparency of system support and governance


  • A baccalaureate degree in Accounting / Finance or Management Information Systems is required; and advance degree is highly desirable, particularly a MBA, MIS 
  • The candidate should possess a minimum 10 to 15 years overall experience in ERP systems in both the functional and technical areas with specific emphasis in the following:
  • Experienced in support administration and process improvement
  • Operation experience
  • Managerial experience with large teams
  • At least 10-15 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Background in the cruise ndustry
  • Proven ability to drive change
  • Ability to communicate confidently at the highest levels and build meaningful internal and external relationships
  • Global perspective and comfortable working with executives with diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Strong experience in systems support, team leadership, as well as establishing and managing service measures to ensure organizational effectiveness
  • Individual must be a proven change leader accustomed to working in a dynamic environment
  • Relevant experience in assessing and building high performing teams in large organizations will be a plus
  • Strong business judgment, as well as a thorough understanding of technology and a demonstrated track record of delivering effective solutions and systems across multiple operating companies in diverse geographic contexts
  • Ability and diplomacy to create and manage change
  • Excellent organizational awareness and proven ability to operate in a matrix environment
  • Personality and presence that will command the respect and achieve buy-in from multiple stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record in preparing and effectively delivering presentations
