The analyst, consumer insights works within the marketing and consumer insights team to support company objectives by providing research-based consultative services utilizing a diverse set of primary research, secondary research and other data sources and approaches. This role is responsible for providing stakeholders with research consultation, analytics, and interpretation of findings to make data-based recommendations aligned with company and marketing goals. The analyst, consumer insights helps understand the consumer experience, sentiments and opportunities to introduce new or improve existing products, programs and services. Daily tasks include contributing to research program design, participating in survey development, online survey programming, data mining, analytics, interpreting findings, creative report development and management of ongoing tracking/monitoring programs and supplier relationships; this includes, where applicable, awareness of company key performance indicators (KPIs) and integrating them in report narratives for further perspective.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Qualitative, quantitative, and secondary research (includes project management, survey/interview guide writing, survey programming, sample management/distributing invites, data analysis (primary or secondary), data interpretation (primary or secondary), creative data storytelling and report development); most analysis will be based on survey collected data, focus group collected data with some analytical tasks using Company proprietary data variables (i.e., data warehouse)
- Mine and analyze assorted data sets to identify insights and opportunities for business and marketing growth
- Manage, monitor and analysis of ongoing internal and external tracking programs and social platforms
- Lead marketing research programs (includes ability to conduct early level needs/situational assessments and accurately answer stakeholder research inquiries)
- Supplier relationship management
- Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree, Market Research/Marketing Research/Social Science/Business
- Insights Professional Certification (IPC) preferred, but not required
- Minimum 2-4 years of quantitative, qualitative, and secondary/syndicated research experience on client or supplier side or 2-4 years of marketing research/management consulting, including experience with consumer insights project work.
- Knowledge of qualitative, quantitative, secondary research methodologies.
- Write surveys/discussion guides, program online surveys/activities, analyze data and produce meaningful and impactful presentations/reports with practical insights and recommendations.
- Sample management experience, from design to execution.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills and proven experience managing large data sets and unstructured data sets (i.e., open ends, free-form comments), performing statistical analysis and testing, including weighting.
- Some proprietary data warehouse mining and analytics a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience managing external supplier relationships.
- Consumer journey mapping experiences helpful, but not required.
- Flexible, with the ability to manage concurrent projects.
- Entertainment, travel, or tourism industry experiences helpful, but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; statistical software (SAS, SPSS); online survey tool (Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Alchemer/SurveyGizmo); usage of research supplier portals (Claritas, Nielsen, MRI Simmons, Scarborough, YouGov) a plus as is experience with data visualization tools (Microstrategy, Tableau)
- Knowledge of customer segmentation systems (Claritas/PRIZM, Esri/Tapestry, Experian/Mosaic, Nielsen/Spectra) may be helpful

The range for this role’s base salary is $51,600 - $75,300. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
