Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Compliance Analyst. The Compliance Analyst will assist with corporate-level implementation of the ethics and compliance program.  The Compliance Analyst has responsibility for day-to-day implementation of (a) the company’s due diligence procedures for third parties that pose an increased anti corruption risk across all brands, (b) alerts arising from the sanctions screening process within the ABG and CCL entities, and (c) preparation and filing of 8300 Reports with FinCEN.  The position also supports other compliance activities as needed.

 

Essential functions:

  • Conduct risk assessment exercises to determine the appropriate prioritization of due diligence to be conducted on third party business partners.
  • Collect background information regarding third parties utilized by Carnival Corporation & plc brands and analyze due diligence results to identify potential compliance risks.
  • Coordinate and assist the legal, finance, audit and business units in design and implementation of controls to manage compliance risks.
  • Upload, update and organize completed due diligence reports in a manner designed to eliminate duplication of effort and maximize ease of use by business units from all Carnival Corporation & plc brands.
  • Evaluate alerts arising from the sanctions screening process at the ABG and CCL entities.  Clear or escalate the results in a timely manner based on independent review and validation of the alerts.  Document results of the evaluation process and communicate results to affected business units.
  • Evaluate 8300 alerts arising from in-house reporting system. Timely preparation and filing of 8300 reports with FinCEN through BSA E-Filing System.
  • Prepare periodic reporting based on the above processes.
  • Perform other job related functions as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field of study.  Paralegal certification preferred but not required.
  • 2 years’ related work experience in corporate compliance is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, NAVEX- Risk Rate, Visual Compliance, and Tableau.
  • A willingness to take the initiative and assume responsibility for challenging projects.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • An ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • A willingness to make and defend difficult and sometimes unpopular decisions.
