Job Description:

We are currently seeking an Assistant Technical Operations Manager. The Assistant Technical Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Fleet Director and Ship Managers for designated CCL vessels with regards to Port State, Classification Society, USCG and in general regulatory paper work and documentation.  Will also assist as required for all preparation, coordination and ship repairs for Dry Dockings and Special projects, and attend dry dockings.          

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the Supervising of maintenance and repair to optimize vessel availability while protecting asset value.
  • Logistical support of vendor repairs.  Extensive vessel inspection visits for pre-dry dock preparations and actual dry dock attendance.
  • Assist in monitoring vessel operating budgets.  Assist in monitoring maintenance budget including routine and major maintenance as well as engine consumables.
  • Support shore side operations department in repair and maintenance for vessels including routine voyage repairs, regulatory surveys, dry docking shipyard events, emergencies, casualties and modifications.  Assist Ship managers with creating dry dock specifications, daily and final dry dock reports.
  • Assist in maintaining technical files including but not limited to service reports, machinery history, technical manuals / drawings and regulatory required documentation.
  • Participate in office and shipboard ISM internal and external audits, and assist in follow up corrective actions until closed.
  • Assist Technical Superintendent or other engineering personnel in technical matters relating to the proper functioning of the technical staff.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architect.
  • Maritime Academy graduate preferred.
  • 2-3 years minimum experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Class Regulations, United States Coast Guard and international regulations and protocols relating to company vessels.
  • United States Coast Guard license of Second Assistant or higher preferred.
  • Extensive Marine Technical Knowledge.
