Job Description:

We are seeking a Technical Maintenance analyst who will provide analytical efforts for maintenance systems in order to identify areas of opportunities, root cause analysis and action plans to correct. This role will drive quality assurance of maintenance reports, the development of standard templates for data collection and optimization and standardization of planned maintenance system job cards. The Technical Maintenance Analyst will provide the Manager of PMS with analytical support for the MAST and inventory improvement initiatives. In this position, the employee will provide cost/benefit analysis and equipment critical to then develop business cases to identify equipment that would benefit from having continual monitoring system (CBM).

Essential Functions:

  • Provide analytical support for key strategic and corporate initiatives (MAST, PMS) such as equipment failure data, frequencies and root cause analysis in order to identify areas of opportunities and create action plans. Support design of new capabilities within planned maintenance system; Create SOPs and document process flows.
  • Perform quality assurance of maintenance reports made by crew identifying gaps to ensure accuracy and consistency.  Engage with Technical Operations Managers for re-training as needed.
  • Drive the development of standard templates for data collection (AMOS measurement forms) by engaging SMEs to define parameters, acceptance ranges, and thresholds needed.
  • Lead MTTR (mean time to repair) and MTBF (mean time between failures) analytic efforts  to identify improvement opportunities. This will require logic, coding, knowledge of different marine equipment along with understanding of the business in order to draw and analyze relevant data.
  • Drive optimization and standardization of planned maintenance system job cards (instructions on how to perform inspection and maintenance). This will require technical knowledge and ability to translate requirements into actionable steps for the crew to execute. Determines needed parts for each job card and updates the required spare parts field in the job card. Conducts periodic review of actual spare parts used  against what is stated on the job card and updates as needed.  
  • Identify equipment that would benefit from having continual monitoring system (CBM) through the development of analytical models based on frequency of failure, impact on the operation and cost of repair. Provide available alternatives to CBM based on the most logic business decision and through cost/benefit analysis and equipment criticality.


  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial/Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture (required) Postgraduate degree in Industrial/Engineering Management, Operations Research, Decision Science or Reliability Engineering (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in Maritime, Energy, Chemical or Manufacturing industry (preferred)
  • Analytical Skills, strong problem solving skills, attention to detail and ability to manage and interpret large data sets
  • Advanced Excel, Tableau/Power BI, Stata/R and MATLAB (preferred)
