Senior Business Intelligence Analyst
Job Description:
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will use a spectrum of personal and technical skills to identify business requirements and functions while analyzing and reporting in a VLDB enterprise Data Warehouse environment within Carnival Corporation’s IT Procurement department.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the project to build a Reporting and Analysis solution for the Corporate Purchasing department
Lead the development and maintenance of analytical reports in a Hyperion, Oracle, SQL Server environment
Design and develop Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse/Data Mart solutions in a distributed environment
Ensure data integrity of Item Catalogs, Supplier data and Contract data by consistently monitoring database transactions
Monitor all auto-generated reports from Hyperion server performing fixes as needed
Manage the Hyperion workspace as well as distribution lists and user access
Provide support to Carnival Corporation’s business units.
Act as liaison to Carnival’s Information Technology team with end user support, and testing of system enhancements prior to promotion to production
Preferred Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in the analysis, design, development and support of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse/Data Mart solutions in a distributed environment.
Proficiency in Hyperion (Interactive Reporting/Dash Boards), other tools such as Crystal Reports, MS SQL Server Reporting Services and Management Studio, in an Oracle, SQL Server environment is also required.
Strong knowledge of emerging database and Business Intelligence technologies will be useful in achieving the goals of various initiatives. Knowledge of T-SQL, MS Access, ETL processes, OLAP design, VBScript, JavaScript, and Database Design Concepts in MS SQL Server or Oracle
Other areas of proficiency should include, but are not limited to: Business analysis and preparation of requirements documentation
Ability to effectively interact with users
Experience with process flow charts, conceptual data models and use cases; Determining operational objectives by studying business processes; Gathering information; Evaluating output requirements
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience is required. Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and collaboration skills are paramount to the success of the Senior BI Analyst
Ability to listen, understand and interpret end-user requests possessing a sense of urgency when posed with time sensitive situations is also required
