Job Description:

The work to be performed will be developed with the supervisors to lay the groundwork for a more comprehensive study to assist in the selection of new technologies and operations for CCL to further investigate, demonstrate, and implement. Further analyses will be required to improve our fuel budgeting and forecasting process. Additional work will be related to identifying operational and technical explanations for fuel consumption variance reporting.

The Naval Architect will provide technical analyses related to fuel conservation efforts. The person will be responsible for assessing technologies and operations to reduce fuel consumption.

• Assist the department in the assessment of fuel conservation measures
• Identify potential emerging technologies
• Evaluate current opportunities for reducing energy consumption (equipment, structures, operations, etc.)
• Correspond with ship managers and vessels to identify applicability
• Provide fuel reduction, budgeting, and forecast calculations and models
• Perform any other related technical office-based activities as assigned



Education: Four-year college in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering or related technical field with experience in the marine industry.

Experience: Prior experience the maritime industry at sea as an engineer or in an office environment.
